Babies laugh about 300 times a day.
Adults just 15 times or so.
What happened?
Laughter is good for your health and your happiness.
You might have heard of Laughter Yoga. It was created by Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor from Mumbai, India. You can see a good example of laughter yoga on this youtube video.
A few years ago, Dr. Kataria came to Japan to do Laughter Yoga workshops. Here are my
Laughter Yoga notes from the sessions I attended.
It is easier to do in the classroom than you might think.
As you probably know, laughter, like smiling, is contagious. If you have the internet in the classroom, you might want to play the video below. You students are almost certain to catch her laughter. The woman is Beth Agnew, a college teacher in Toronto. She has a laughblog.
(and yes, I do use this video on test days).
